I drove across town to have my cuckoo clock repaired. I dropped it off and was quoted a price and time it would be completed. I was given an old mantle clock as a gift from an elderly women that I had cared for. I really knew nothing about it, and it seemed to be running slow. I made an appointment with Paul. Paul fixed a cuckoo clock for me that another clock repair shop was unable to do. Before l took possession of the repaired clock, he took the time to explain the correct way to hang it on the wall and how to wind it up. I always thought that the only requirement for mounting the clock was that the bottom of the case be level, however, as he explained to me that it is the equal and balanced sound of the swinging pendulum that determines the clocks correct wall position not a level case. Paul made sure that before I left his shop that I understood the basic fundamentals of maintaining a mechanical clock. This man loves his work and it shows through his enthusiastic teaching, now if only all repair shops were as through as this one.

The clock that Paul repaired was a Self Winding Clock Co. Inc. these clocks are quite rare and there aren’t many people that have the knowledge and skill to work on them. Paul new everything about them including the history of the clocks dating back to the late 1800's and it was a pleasure to listen to his knowledge. Highly recommend!!

Paul has serviced our Black Forest cuckoo clock purchased during a trip to Germany multiple times.
The first time I took the clock to Paul was after I thought I had ruined it by trying to fix it myself. Paul was able to ‘roll up his sleeves’…and return our beautiful clock to us like new!
Recently, I took the cuckoo clock to Paul for a routine cleaning and oiling. During this same visit, I asked Paul to take a look at our 120+ year-old Eastlake mantel clock…and determine if he could get it back in ‘working order’. As in the case of the cuckoo clock, Paul was able to return our Eastlake to us as if it was just purchased new…120+ years later!
Paul is a clock aficionado…he is a master at the assessment and repair of most any timepiece.

It took a long time to find someone I felt comfortable with to repair my clock. I have now found a person dedicated to his craft and making the best repairs. A true craftsman who loves, loves, loves what he does. I took two clocks to Paul in December to be rehabilitated. One was my partner's 150-year-old OG shelf clock, a family piece purchased by his great grandfather in Waterbury, CT. Paul not only knew what he was doing, he knew everything about the clock style, and gave me quite a history lesson about the clock. I was thrilled, and so was my partner. The price was very reasonable. This was not a slap-dash job. Paul rebuilds, he doesn't replace parts with stock pieces. He is one of a kind - a master artist and craftsman. HIGHLY recommended!!

I had to drive an hour to get to Paul and Judy’s and it was well worth it. I had a mantle clock that had been repaired locally and came under the category of “shoddy workmanship”. I told Paul that the clock was a birthday gift from my mother, many years ago and it meant a lot to me, he went above and beyond to restore it to its original condition, or probably better than ever. The other clock is a cuckoo clock my children bought me for Mother’s Day years ago. This clock means a lot to me also because the kids picked it out and it has a lot of sentimental value to me. Paul made it like new. I love the clock sounds, it sounds like home. Paul told me the clocks would be done in 10 days and he was right on time. He also gave me a tutorial on how to care for each of them. The charge was very reasonable and It’s good to know he’s there if anything ever comes up. Paul knows his stuff. I took an old mantle clock from my great grandparents that had jammed gears and a broken spring to Paul. He quoted me a price and told me when it was going to be ready, and sure enough, it was ready for me to pick up on the day he had said. When I came to pick up the clock, he spent some time explaining a couple of things that I could do to keep the clock ticking for another hundred years. Nice guy.

On top of getting the clockworks repaired and restoring the facade to near-mint condition, when I picked it up from his shop he spent a good half hour explaining the proper setting, leveling and operation of the clock. After doing a fair bit of research online, we contacted Paul and arranged to bring in our old calendar wall clock, which hadn't worked in several years. Make that decades. We were able to drop off the clock a few days later, and Paul gave the clock a quick examination, explaining how the various mechanisms worked to operate the calendar mechanism, and explained his process for assessing and repairing the clock.
A couple of weeks later, he let us know that the clock was ready, and that all he'd had to do was give the innards a cleaning and some lubrication, and that he wasn't even going to charge us. (We forced some money on him at pickup, anyhow). When we picked up the clock, he also gave us the name and contact info for someone who could repaint the dial, as the paint was flaking and generally in bad condition.
We would not hesitate to recommend Paul's services to anyone in need of clock repair. He is clearly very knowledgeable and honest, and we'll be bringing another of our clocks for him to work his magic on soon.

I contacted Paul's wife and set up appointment at his shop. I explained my cuckoo clock was knocked off the wall by accident and the hands came off. I attempted to put them back on, to no avail. I couldn't get them on correctly. So I decided to contact someone who knew what they were doing. I looked on line, and I found a master craftsman in the area. Within 10 minutes it was repaired, and I was on my way to breakfast with my favorite son-in-law. My problem was fixed and my clock is back on the wall keeping great time. THIS MAN IS TRULY A MASTER! I would never hesitate to use his skills again.

Paul is a craftsman and expert when it comes to clocks. I had a cuckoo clock that was badly damaged in a fall off the wall. I sent it to a repairman in Iowa, and when it was returned, the case was just okay, but the clock didn't work at all. I thought it was done for... I found Paul, and he restored the case properly and repaired the clock so that it runs beautifully. Paul has the patience and expertise to handle any type of clock repair. Paul very kindly inspected an old mantle clock purchased at a rummage sale and instructed me how to care for it. I believed it was not in working order and he politely showed me differently. He refused compensation for his time with me. I would definitely recommend him. In fact, it has given me the incentive to bring an old clock inherited from my mother back to working condition, rather than just being a mantle decoration.

Paul was very informed and passed a lot of that knowledge on to us in a friendly manner. Our cuckoo cuckoo has been running perfectly since its repair. It looked like a new clock when we picked it up. In short I will never take any of my clocks to anyone else Paul is a clock expert yes, but he also is a craftsman who takes pride in his work and handles each clock as if it were his own. I don't often recommend anyone unless I am impressed, color me impressed he does beautiful work.

I was so pleased to find a clock repair person that would come to the house. I was very leery of transporting my large wall pendulum clock to get it fixed (weight, rehanging it, getting the pendulum back on, etc.). Paul did an excellent job of repairing my grandfather clock that is now 36 years old. It has been loved, but not maintained and had been losing time and chiming very slowly and gonging off by an hour. In a matter of 30 minutes, everything was repaired and the clock is chiming beautifully and gonging accurately with the time, too! I am very pleased with the service!

My mother had a small music box she purchased in 1971 while in Switzerland. She has down-sized from her house to an apartment and my daughter wanted this. It hasn't played in years. I thought the cause was that it had been wound to tightly. While looking at it I turned it upside-down and the flywheel began to turn and it slowly began to play. We have an extra large Anton Schneider Black Forest Cuckoo Clock that recently came crashing down from the wall after hanging securely there for over a year. Our cherished clock was in pieces and I was in tears. Wow, totally surprised at how I was received at Paul's Clock Repair. I telephoned this morning saying I had an Alaron wall clock that wasn't working. Last year Paul came and tuned up a grandfathers clock I inherited. He carefully inspected and explained to us everything he was doing and what needed to be done. Took my Seth Thomas triple chime mantel clock there to be repaired. After Paul's daughter looked at the clock and then wound it she said that it was completely wound down and was working fine now, ticking and chiming. (How embarrassing, I thought that I had over wound the clock and ruined the spring.) She suggested that we take the clock home for a week and if it worked, fine, if not bring it back. She said that she didn't want to charge for a clock that did not need repaired. She explained some things about the clock to me and answered all of my questions. I initially called Paul to do routine service on our Howard Miller Grandfather Clock, after completed, he took two other clocks to his shop for repair. He cleaned, oiled and repaired time train on a Howard Miller Triple chime wall clock; cleaned, oiled and put new motor in our old GE Westminster Mantle clock.
All repairs were completed and clocks returned in a timely manner; the clocks work great! Paul even rehung my wall clock in a more secure manner, which was so appreciated! Judy was on time and had no problems fixing my clock that had not worked in 20+ years. I wish I would have called sooner.
I own an old clock that even Paul stated he had never dealt with one such as mine. It was not winding properly, was not keeping time and just did not sound correctly to me. I had taken the clock to another repair person and it came back to me worse than it had been.
Paul had remembered my clock because he had worked on it years ago.
He and Judy kindly brought it back to my home of their own choosing. Paul explained to me how badly it had been messed up by the other repair person and all that he found wrong with it. He stated that it took him 2 full days of work to correct all of the problems.
While they were at my home, Judy was kind enough to check out the chimes of an art deco clock and make it sound right again.
I can not praise Paul and Judy enough for their expertise and kindness. They went way beyond my

Our treasured Grandfather clock stopped chiming several years ago and was running slow. The clock had been built by my late father, so we did not have an option to contact a manufacturer. There are so few master clock repair specialists around anymore, so we prayed that the listing for Paul's Clock Repair we found in our Angie's List monthly magazine was going to be "the one." We called and got a prompt home visit from Paul's wife Judy, who is also skilled at servicing the large clocks. She was able to get the clock to run correctly again and chime in less than an hour. We were told at that time that the 40 year old parts might need further repairs which would require the works to be rebuilt in their home for an additional charge, if we so desired. They have a 30 day guarantee on their work so when we noticed that it was starting to skip the fifteen minute chimes, we called for the additional service - we really wanted to restore the clock to perfection. Judy came again promptly to remove the works.
We got to meet Paul when the couple returned this morning to reassemble our beloved clock. Bushings had worn down in the intricate works and had been replaced. Everything had been cleaned and oiled, and the chime train was repaired. Paul was extremely helpful, making sure we were properly instructed on how to care for the weights and pendulum. We couldn't be more pleased with their service and professionalism! If you have a treasured clock, the cost to rebuild the works is well worth the investment; to get prompt, reliable service in the home is tremendously appreciated. Very highly recommended.

Paul & his daughter Lisa have given me new faith in the service industry in regards to what a real Master Craftsman in truly all about...I found their advertisement listing about (3) weeks ago, when I grabbed the "paper" yellow pages out of the closet. It opened right to theie Ad and I cosider myself very lucky that it did. When I called the shop, Lisa tried to assist me with my problem over the phone, and she insisted that their would be no charge, even though I offered to pay. When the problem could not be corrected, it was decided that I should bring my clock to the shop. The work was completed in less time than was estimated, and the price was also lowered from the original quote. What a surprise! When I picked the clock up, Lisa took the time to explain the proper setup and winding procedure, and she answred all my questions. I loved this family exterprise from the start, and I would recommend them highly to anyone considering having their family heirlooms repaired.

Paul completely dis-assembled, cleaned and restored our beloved family heirloom antique Tall Case Grandfather clock. Our old grandfather clock had been knocked over, moved several times, and never maintained properly. Paul did a meticulous job of cleaning him and getting him back in working order. It was very apparent to us that this man loves clocks! And he definitely knows what he is doing. Paul and his wife came to our house, picked up the clock and returned it in about 2 and a half weeks.

We have 5 antique mantel clocks, an antique tallcase clock, and a Regina music box. The tallcase clock was a recent acquisition and was powering down with no visible reason. Paul and his wife Judy came to our home to do a tune-up on the tallcase and to look at the mantel clocks. We have four French movement clocks that are very delicate and fussy. One was never working at all when it arrived, the other worked sporadically. Paul took his time to go over each one carefully and explain what needed to be done with them. Two of the French clocks needed only a tune up, so those were fine. Three I knew would need repairs so we sent two of the worst back to Paul's shop. They returned within two weeks working as if they were brand new. Paul took the time to set up and go over the care that should be given to the delicate French clocks. I am very grateful for this. We then sent the tallcase movement, an American mantel clock, and the Regina music box with Paul for repairs. Once again, all of them came back working beautifully and sounding like never before. It is like we have a house full of new 100+ year old clocks and a happy Regina. I can give nothing but excellent reviews to Paul and Judy for giving our clocks new lives. It is wonderful to hear the sound of all these old clocks ticking and striking. Paul is a true master of his craft.

Repaired an antique long drop weight driven wall clock. Estimate and final cost were the same. Turnover on the repair was fast - two weeks and they fully explained what was done and how to correctly put the clock back into service. I gave them an additional antique clock to repair and once that has been completed I expect to give them another one. Without a doubt this has been my best experience with a clock repair.

I am so pleased that my grandfather clock that was my mothers is ticking again (it is over 35 years old). It hasn't worked probably for over 15 years and I was so happy to find someone who could repair it. Getting use to the chiming was challenging at first, now we don't even notice. I would totally recommend Paul's Clocks to anyone that needs repairs to their hierlooms. They repaired a grandfather clock that had not worked in 5 years. The owner's wife arrived punctually at 8 AM on the day of the appointment and proceeded to inspect the mechanism of the clock. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the mechanism had to be taken to the shop for further work. Cost was explained at this time which we felt was very reasonable. We received a call several weeks later indicating that the clock was repaired and would be returned the next day at 8AM. She arrived promptly at 8AM and installed the mechanism. After completing the work, she explained how to maintain the clock and the warranty. She gladly answered any of our questions. The entire experience was very pleasurable and we would heartily recommend their service. We will definitely use them again should the need arise. They are truly professional in every sense of the word.

We inherited a Grandfather Clock that my husband's Grandpa built. Recently it stopped working so we went on line & found Paul's Clock Repair. He & his wife, Judy, came all the way down to our home, in Washington County from Pittsburgh. While they were here, we asked if he would also be able to fix a cuckoo clock (from the Black Forest in what was West Germany) that hadn't worked in 25+ years. Two weeks later, Paul & Judy brought back the clocks. We are very happy with all the repairs. They explained how to wind them, how to adjust them, and that we should have them Serviced every 5 years.

I can not express my thanks & gratitude enough to everyone at Paul's Clock Repair. I needed an Atmos clock repaired, which was given to me by my mother who had recently passed away. I needed it done on a short time line since I live out-of-town and was leaving soon. It is next to impossible to find anyone who can actually fix that type of clock especially anywhere close to where I live. They were so accommodating and really really helped me out during a hard time. I am so pleased with my cleaned clock! I inherited a cuckoo clock and it suddenly stopped ticking after years of no problems. I brought it to Paul and after 2 weeks, got it back in better shape than when I took it to him! It's like a brand new clock and I couldn't be happier with the service I received! It even keeps better time now than it did before! I'm definitely recommending Paul to friends and family! Also, his daughter filled me in with a lot of knowledge about my clock that I never knew!
