Paul was very informed and passed a lot of that knowledge on to us in a friendly manner. Our cuckoo cuckoo has been running perfectly since its repair. It looked like a new clock when we picked it up. In short I will never take any of my clocks to anyone else Paul is a clock expert yes, but he also is a craftsman who takes pride in his work and handles each clock as if it were his own. I don't often recommend anyone unless I am impressed, color me impressed he does beautiful work.

I was so pleased to find a clock repair person that would come to the house. I was very leery of transporting my large wall pendulum clock to get it fixed (weight, rehanging it, getting the pendulum back on, etc.). Paul came when he said he would, wore a mask, doped out what was wrong with my beloved clock that had stopped chiming and was on his way in about 20 minutes. I am more than thrilled to have my clock functioning again!! Money very well invested.

This man has over 50 years experience. And is certainly a MASTER at his trade!!
No, I am NOT related to him, I only know him from coming to my home to work on my Grandfather clock. A Howard Miller, which I love! When Paul left my clock was running like brand new .
He also gave my husband several pointers on the care and operation of our clock
Which he did not have to do? So complaints about the price of his service! Really!!

While I was stationed in Germany, 30 years ago, I sent my father two cuckoo clocks. When he passed away, I was given the clocks back. One of them didn't work and the other had deer heads on the front with some of the antlers broken. Paul was able to clean and repair them both allowing us to hear the cuckoos and the music we haven't heard in a long time.

Recently we were having problems with our Howard Miller wall clock. It turns out there was nothing wrong with the clock. The problem was that we weren’t setting and starting it correctly. We have been searching for a clock shop for quite sometime. Our clock is about 150 years old, so we are very particular about who services it. We found Paul's Clock Repair, called and set up an appointment. At the beginning of our appointment, we spent time getting to know Paul's background and training. Paul's clock repair is truly the best!! We had an antique( 150 years) Dutch pendulum wall clock that belonged to my mother-in-law (in Holland) shipped over a few years ago and have just had it lying in several pieces on a table. I researched very carefully where I could take it for the TLC it deserved and needed. Paul's Clock Repair was the name the kept coming back as the best. We took the clock in and met Lisa ( Paul and Judy's daughter) and she said the clock could be repaired...we were thrilled. Last week Paul called and he made me feel so happy...he said the clock is a true gem. He was able to get it working perfectly and he lovingly cleaned and repaired every inch of it from the wood pieces to the brass weights to the door on the clock face. AND...the best part...Paul and Judy ( she is a gem...they are truly a perfect team)...just left our house an hour ago...hung the clock...lots of pieces involved and showed us how to care for it and wind it....the love and joy and care for our clock was so evident in their faces. This is the second time I have used Paul's Clock repair for my Cuckoo Clock. A few years ago there was a problem and he corrected the problem for me. The clock has been working great. Last week I again had it in the shop due to my negligence. Received a call a few days later telling me that the clock was ready to be picked up. After picking up the clock and setting it up the cuckoo would not work. Called the shop and had a quick return call. They talked me thru the steps and it was corrected. I must say that the shop personnel were very courteous, and patient with me . After following their suggestions the problem was fixed. I highly recommend Paul for your clock repair. Not only does he do high quality work, but they back fully what they do, as I found out with this problem. If the need arises I will certainly use their services again.

This was a great experience. I have had cuckoo clocks repaired and or cleaned in the past at a much higher price and that took a lot longer to be returned to me. This company had my clocks returned repaired within 2 weeks and they are working great. They gave me a lot of great information on my clocks and also on a 3rd clock that they looked at at no charge. My sister also used this service for her grandfather clock and is very happy with the results. She said this was the first time her grandfather clock has kept good time since she got it. I had Judy come to my house to fix two antiques clocks about 6 months ago. I was so happy she was able to get both up and running! Yay!! One is a tall case Mission clock that has weights that you have to pull every couple of days to keep it running. Well, we were away for awhile recently and the clock stopped. But somehow now it was striking the hour on the 6 instead of the 12. I didn’t know how to fix that so I called Judy again for help. Their daughter Lisa called me and helped me through it over the phone and we got my clock running again! What great customer service!! Love that the whole family works together to help you! Paul is unbelievable. My grandfather clock was dropped during my move to Pittsburgh. It was shattered. I never thought it would be the same. Paul and his wife fixed it, and you can’t even tell. My Grandfather Clock got its chains tangled in the gears. I called them on a Friday, and they came to my home, which is at least 50 miles away, the following Tuesday. The job took about an hour. They took the clock mechanism out of the case, oiled it and put the chains back where they belonged. Then, they discovered that the chimes were out of sync - they fixed that also, and all for the quoted price. It's so nice to have the sounds of my clock, made by my Father in 1966, ringing through the house again. We were very pleased with the service.

My experience was great. Paul'shop is out of the house. He met me promptly for drop off and pickup. I understand he does house calls for grandfather clocks. He provided an accurate estimate of the costs. The repairs were done in about 10 days. The clock, which never chimed the hour and which had its chime sequence off, now works flawlessly. If you are looking for a master clock-smith with fair price, then Paul is the best choice I ever found in the Pittsburgh area.

With much trepidation, I took a tabletop clock to Paul. He fixed it at a very reasonable price, based on my past experiences with clocks. Plus there is a year guarantee on the repair, which is a great and unexpected bonus! I did not meet Paul but his wife Judy was very nice and she made a house call to check out our grandfather clock. She also delivered back the tabletop clock, which was great that I didn't have to worry that I would drop it. Home visit went well. My two companion clocks are working well!

I brought over from Ohio, an old grandfather's clock which has been in my family for three generations now. The clock was in such disrepair that many or most would have simply junked it. I couldn't do that. The case was refinished and the face repainted. Paul knew that I was intentional about saving the piece but just did not think that he could repair the works. This clock is after all, almost 150 years old. So we sent it to New Hampshire to a clock maker there who rebuilt some of the workings and sent it back. When it came back from New Hampshire, Paul put it in the case and it would strike the hours, but not tick. Again knowing that this was an important piece to me, Paul took it back to his shop, and worked on it again. Now it runs as it should. I took my antique mantel clock into Paul's, it needed major work including new chime bars and a good cleanup. They did everything necessary and stuck to their original quote even though they found additional work that needed to be performed. They also provided a 1 year guarantee , which I had to use for a very minor issue about 7 months later. They were true to their word, and there were no additional charges. Their service, kindness and honesty are something seldom seen these days. I will continue to use Paul's for all of my clock repair and highly recommend them to others.

When my favorite clock (circa 1850 Vienna Regulator) needed repair I sent it "Paul". I wrapped it with several layers of bubble wrap and packed it in a substantial box, reinforced and shipped via UPS.
When it got to Paul it was destroyed, its beautiful case was broken open, the supports that hold the movement ripped from the housing, glass broken. I didn't know what to do, Paul said he would do his best to repair the clock. The outlook for me was grim. My expectation at that point was a total loss. Paul went out of his way to repair my clock, he found antique glass, restored the case, gluing the case back together. The repair was way beyond my expectation. The clock looks as good as it did before UPS destroyed it. It runs perfectly! Looks phenomenal! I would recommend Paul's Clock Repair, LLC to every one. This man is a true craftsman. When this service is a dying art, Paul provides exceptional work that goes above your expectation. I am truly grateful to Paul for the repairs he provided me! Thank You

I brought in our Shatz cukoo clock which hadn't run for 30 + years. Paul was knowlegeable about the age, value, and history of the clock. He saved us $100 in labor and the clock has been beautifully restored. He and his daughter Lisa took the time to give me specific instructions on how to run the clock and what to expect. Paul and Judy do an amazing job! I had a grandfather clock given to me that has been in the family for over 30 years, and now sits in my office, hopefully for the next 30 years. Paul and Judy had maintained the clock in its original location and the owner trusted them to pack up the clock, transport it across town and build it back up in my home. The installation went very well, but it was the training that was the notable piece for me. I was given a technical explanation of how the clock is designed internally and an overview on operation and maintenance. To my dismay, while winding a cuckoo clock I had bought while in Germany, it fell off the wall and broke
into many pieces. I wasn't sure what mechanical damage may have been done. Also, a grandfather clock I
have chimed in an off-key manner and sometimes had a double strike. I arranged for a home visit by
speaking with Paul's daughter. Paul and his wife arrived promptly on the scheduled day, and called the day
before to confirm and again to let me know they were on the way. Paul worked on the grandfather clock,
making it sound better. They kindly delivered my cuckoo clock back to me, and to my delight it looks like
new, and works perfectly. Paul explained proper winding and care of the clock. I highly recommend them!!

It has been loved, but not maintained and had been losing time and chiming very slowly and gonging off by an hour. We have an extra large Anton Schneider Black Forest Cuckoo Clock that recently came crashing down from the wall after hanging securely there for over a year. Our cherished clock was in pieces and I was in tears. I found Paul's repair service online and after reading the testimonials decided that he was the one we would take our clock to in the hopes that he could piece it back together and make sure the inner workings were not damaged. It was very difficult to trust someone to do the casing and decorative piece repairs - I couldn't imagine anyone being able to return it to it's original grandeur - but Paul did it and we are so grateful that we took it to him! Paul did such a remarkable job on the repairs - nobody will ever notice it had even been damaged - and the clock is working perfectly! Wow, totally surprised at how I was received at Paul's Clock Repair. I telephoned this morning saying I had an Alaron wall clock that wasn't working. The woman I talked with said bring it in we are open 9-2. I was greeted at the door by Lisa who took the clock and knew right away what was wrong with it. It didn't actually need repaired, just wound. :) She provided detailed instruction on how to care for the clock we had just received since Dave's mom's passing. I asked how much I owed and she said nothing!! Where does that happen these days?? Can't thank you enough for the great customer service and knowledge. I highly recommend Paul's Clock Repair.

Last year Paul came and tuned up a grandfathers clock I inherited. He carefully inspected and explained to us everything he was doing and what needed to be done. He took extreme care in handling each piece. He had to take parts of it back to be fixed. When he came back, we were blown away with all the miniscule parts he had to take off to clean and put back or replace. It was so shiny and new looking. The price was incredibly reasonable for that kind of work, plus the painstaking time involved and the knowledge and the love he had for his work was bar none. He is a rare craftsman. Thank you for all you did to teach us about the clock and bring it back to it's original state.

I can not express my thanks & gratitude enough to everyone at Paul's Clock Repair. I needed an Atmos clock repaired, which was given to me by my mother who had recently passed away. I needed it done on a short time line since I live out-of-town and was leaving soon. It is next to impossible to find anyone who can actually fix that type of clock especially anywhere close to where I live. EXTREMELY satisfied customer here. I have a 150 year old grandfather clock that has wooden gears that is a family heirloom. I was unsure if anyone would be able to repair it. Took my Seth Thomas triple chime mantel clock there to be repaired. After Paul's daughter looked at the clock and then wound it she said that it was completely wound down and was working fine now, ticking and chiming. (How embarrassing, I thought that I had over wound the clock and ruined the spring.) She suggested that we take the clock home for a week and if it worked, fine, if not bring it back. She said that she didn't want to charge for a clock that did not need repaired. She explained some things about the clock to me and answered all of my questions. She was very professional and helpful. I so appreciated her honesty and will definitely deal with them again in the future. Highly recommend.

I did not tell anyone in my family that I was having our cuckoo clock repaired, and so during Christmas, when the clock went off, everyone was puzzled as to what that sound was. When they saw the clock they were so surprised and happy! It brought such joy to the family again.

I initially called Paul to do routine service on our Howard Miller Grandfather Clock, after completed, he took two other clocks to his shop for repair. He cleaned, oiled and repaired time train on a Howard Miller Triple chime wall clock; cleaned, oiled and put new motor in our old GE Westminster Mantle clock.
All repairs were completed and clocks returned in a timely manner; the clocks work great! Paul even rehung my wall clock in a more secure manner, which was so appreciated! My experience dealing with Paul and Judy could not have been better! I will use their services in the future if needed and not hesitate to recommend them to others!

Diagnosed why clock kept stopping-cleaned clock of excess old oil-very professional-gave a time frame for repair. Clock was repaired within the timeframe. I had two antique clocks from Europe that were not working. Both clocks were repaired and are now working. They were always prompt. Calls returned on a timely basis--very professional. I was very happy to have my clocks working again. They came to the house and were able to repair one on the clocks here. The other large clock had to be removed. It was repaired quickly and returned to my home. I was very happy with the service I was provided and the quality of the workmanship. I would highly recommend Paul's Clock Repair if you are in need of any kind of clock service.

We are very pleased with the service...we were having a small problem with our clock. We took it in and they were so friendly and helpful..a previous clockmaker told us it could not be fixed but Paul got it working perfectly especially for the age of the clock. We highly recommend them.

Our treasured Grandfather clock stopped chiming several years ago and was running slow. The clock had been built by my late father, so we did not have an option to contact a manufacturer. There are so few master clock repair specialists around anymore, so we prayed that the listing for Paul's Clock Repair we found in our Angie's List monthly magazine was going to be "the one." We called and got a prompt home visit from Paul's wife Judy, who is also skilled at servicing the large clocks. She was able to get the clock to run correctly again and chime in less than an hour. We were told at that time that the 40 year old parts might need further repairs which would require the works to be rebuilt in their home for an additional charge, if we so desired. They have a 30 day guarantee on their work so when we noticed that it was starting to skip the fifteen minute chimes, we called for the additional service - we really wanted to restore the clock to perfection. Judy came again promptly to remove the works.
We got to meet Paul when the couple returned this morning to reassemble our beloved clock. Bushings had worn down in the intricate works and had been replaced. Everything had been cleaned and oiled, and the chime train was repaired. Paul was extremely helpful, making sure we were properly instructed on how to care for the weights and pendulum. We couldn't be more pleased with their service and professionalism! If you have a treasured clock, the cost to rebuild the works is well worth the investment; to get prompt, reliable service in the home is tremendously appreciated. Very highly recommended.

Their estimate as to what needed done as well as how long the repairs would take was satisfactory. Not only did they pick up the items needing repair, but delivered them back. When the repaired clocks were returned, both took the time to explain the repairs and the best way to make sure the clock was properly installed on the wall. Both are very knowledgeable in their business.

Paul & his daughter Lisa have given me new faith in the service industry in regards to what a real Master Craftsman in truly all about...I found their advertisement listing about (3) weeks ago, when I grabbed the "paper" yellow pages out of the closet. It opened right to theie Ad and I cosider myself very lucky that it did. When I called the shop, Lisa tried to assist me with my problem over the phone, and she insisted that their would be no charge, even though I offered to pay. When the problem could not be corrected, it was decided that I should bring my clock to the shop. The work was completed in less time than was estimated, and the price was also lowered from the original quote. What a surprise! When I picked the clock up, Lisa took the time to explain the proper setup and winding procedure, and she answred all my questions. I loved this family exterprise from the start, and I would recommend them highly to anyone considering having their family heirlooms repaired.

Paul completely dis-assembled, cleaned and restored our beloved family heirloom antique Tall Case Grandfather clock. Our old grandfather clock had been knocked over, moved several times, and never maintained properly. Paul did a meticulous job of cleaning him and getting him back in working order. It was very apparent to us that this man loves clocks! And he definitely knows what he is doing. Paul and his wife came to our house, picked up the clock and returned it in about 2 and a half weeks.

Antique mantel, tallcase, and music box repair

We have 5 antique mantel clocks, an antique tallcase clock, and a Regina music box. The tallcase clock was a recent acquisition and was powering down with no visible reason. Paul and his wife Judy came to our home to do a tune-up on the tallcase and to look at the mantel clocks. We have four French movement clocks that are very delicate and fussy. One was never working at all when it arrived, the other worked sporadically. Paul took his time to go over each one carefully and explain what needed to be done with them. Two of the French clocks needed only a tune up, so those were fine. Three I knew would need repairs so we sent two of the worst back to Paul's shop. They returned within two weeks working as if they were brand new. Paul took the time to set up and go over the care that should be given to the delicate French clocks. I am very grateful for this. We then sent the tallcase movement, an American mantel clock, and the Regina music box with Paul for repairs. Once again, all of them came back working beautifully and sounding like never before. It is like we have a house full of new 100+ year old clocks and a happy Regina. I can give nothing but excellent reviews to Paul and Judy for giving our clocks new lives. It is wonderful to hear the sound of all these old clocks ticking and striking. Paul is a true master of his craft.

Turnover on the repair was fast - two weeks and they fully explained what was done and how to correctly put the clock back into service. I gave them an additional antique clock to repair and once that has been completed I expect to give them another one. Without a doubt this has been my best experience with a clock repair.

I am so pleased that my grandfather clock that was my mothers is ticking again (it is over 35 years old). It hasn't worked probably for over 15 years and I was so happy to find someone who could repair it. Getting use to the chiming was challenging at first, now we don't even notice. They repaired a grandfather clock that had not worked in 5 years. The owner's wife arrived punctually at 8 AM on the day of the appointment and proceeded to inspect the mechanism of the clock. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the mechanism had to be taken to the shop for further work. Cost was explained at this time which we felt was very reasonable. We received a call several weeks later indicating that the clock was repaired and would be returned the next day at 8AM. She arrived promptly at 8AM and installed the mechanism. After completing the work, she explained how to maintain the clock and the warranty. She gladly answered any of our questions. The entire experience was very pleasurable and we would heartily recommend their service. We will definitely use them again should the need arise. They are truly professional in every sense of the word.

He & his wife, Judy, came all the way down to our home, in Washington County from Pittsburgh. While they were here, we asked if he would also be able to fix a cuckoo clock (from the Black Forest in what was West Germany) that hadn't worked in 25+ years. Two weeks later, Paul & Judy brought back the clocks. We are very happy with all the repairs. They explained how to wind them, how to adjust them, and that we should have them Serviced every 5 years.

I can not express my thanks & gratitude enough to everyone at Paul's Clock Repair. I needed an Atmos clock repaired, which was given to me by my mother who had recently passed away. I needed it done on a short time line since I live out-of-town and was leaving soon. It is next to impossible to find anyone who can actually fix that type of clock especially anywhere close to where I live. They were so accommodating and really really helped me out during a hard time. Much thanks to Lisa for spending the time to teach my about the clock & how to take care of it and her dad for fixing it up! My Atmos clock is now working great and looks wonderful on my mantle!

I am so pleased with my cleaned clock! I inherited a cuckoo clock and it suddenly stopped ticking after years of no problems. I brought it to Paul and after 2 weeks, got it back in better shape than when I took it to him! It's like a brand new clock and I couldn't be happier with the service I received! It even keeps better time now than it did before! I'm definitely recommending Paul to friends and family! Also, his daughter filled me in with a lot of knowledge about my clock that I never knew! Like that it's almost 90 years old and it's a rare color and it's truly German! Very cool stuff! Overall, I'm very pleased!

Paul and Judy do an amazing job! I had a grandfather clock given to me that has been in the family for over 30 years, and now sits in my office, hopefully for the next 30 years. Paul and Judy had maintained the clock in its original location and the owner trusted them to pack up the clock, transport it across town and build it back up in my home. The installation went very well, but it was the training that was the notable piece for me. I was given a technical explanation of how the clock is designed internally and an overview on operation and maintenance. The passion that this team brings for the history of the clocks is refreshing and their love for the business is very evident. Great presentation Paul and Judy, I really enjoyed meeting you and look forward to working with you in the future. I highly recommend using Paul and Judy for your clock repair needs!
